BUD & CAROL STARTED GOING TOGETHER

IN HIGHSCHOOL, DECEMBER 1949

Carol had just come home the past summer from the Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated by the Sister Kenny personnel for polio.

A very close friend of the family, Sue Bovenzie,a registered nurse,took a vacation to attend to Carol, through her Sister Kenny treatment.

Carol got to meet Sister Kenny on one of her visits to the Medical Center.

Carol always said Sue saved her life,and I for one am very grateful to her for that.

She was required to take afternoon naps and do certain exercises to aid her recuperation.

Carol only went half days to Manasquan High the remainder of 1949 and part of 1950, during her recuperation period.

One of the things we found that was very good for her, was roller skating at the Roller Dome not to far from our homes.

We both bought shoe skates and proceeded to make a number of trips to the Roller Dome where we enjoyed our skating together and she benefited from the exercise it gave her.

SOME BACKGROUND

CAROL AND I CAME TO ORANGE CALIFORNIA FROM SPRING LAKE N.J.,IN DECEMBER 1962,WITH OUR CHILDREN,JIM, KATHY AND TERRY.

NOW OUR CHILDREN ARE MARRIED AND WE HAVE FOUR GRANDCHILDREN,TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

PATRICK,CHRIS,KYLE,TAMMY AND THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDEN,KAYLA, AND RYAN PAUL, AMY ENGLE.

CAROL AND I CELEBRATED OUR 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY,MARCH 01,2002

CAROL PASSED AWAY DECEMBER 16,2006

MARRIED 54 YEARS,TOGETHER 56 YEARS ONE MONTH.

WE STILL LIVED IN THE SAME HOUSE WE BOUGHT IN 1963.

MY DAUGHTER TERRY AND CARL AND TAMMY WANTED TO MOVE TO MISSOURI AND WANTED ME TO LIVE WITH THEM, SO WE SOLD OUR HOMES IN 2010 AND I NOW LIVE IN OZARK, MO.

TAMMY IS MARRIED NOW AND LIVES CLOSE TO OUR HOME IN OZARK.

I HATED LEAVING MY OLDEST DAUGHTER KATHY AND SON JIM AND GRANDKIDS IN CALIFORNIA, BUT I HAVE KATHY AND JIM VISIT ME HERE IN OZARK EVERY YEAR.
